March 8, 2010: Springboard PoC/PnL Fund Comptetition is now open.
The objective of the Patent & Legal Fund is to protect and prepare for commercialization, promising technology developed by Network members.
The Patent & Legal Fund will provide funding, up to an amount of ten thousand Canadian Dollars ($10,000) per invention, to protect promising technologies in order to attract early stage investment in anticipation of transferring the technology to a new or established company.
Applications for Patent & Legal awards may be combined with Proof of Concept applications, however, strong justifications will be required to fund both components simultaneously. Patent & Legal awards may not be combined with the Pilot Proof of Concept awards.
Funding for Patent & Legal costs is available for up to twelve (12) months (from the date the funds are awarded to the Tech Transfer/Business Development Member Office), and is non-renewable.
The Awards program assumes direct costs of the project application as per the standard member cost-sharing formula for the Springboard AIF project.
