Partnering with business accelerators and incubators to give Atlantic Canadian start-ups access to IP supports
Businesses need to protect their intellectual property, just as they would protect their physical assets such as buildings and equipment. Patents, copyrights, trademarks, registered industrial designs, plant breeders’ rights, geographical indications and trade secrets can give entrepreneurs a path to growth and an important advantage over their competitors.
Springboard’s Atlantic IP Initiative is a program specifically designed to help raise awareness around the importance of intellectual property (IP) in the region. It will act as a guiding light for start-up businesses, helping them access key supports for IP strategy development and implementation.
Thanks to the ElevateIP support from ISED, organizations across Canada – including Springboard Atlantic – will be able to provide intellectual property (IP) training and access to specialized services to innovative start-ups – helping harness the potential of their ideas and continue to build their businesses.
Our initiative will also help to educate, promote awareness and increase capacity of the business accelerators and incubators (BAIs) that directly support these startups.
