CBU Partners With Private Firm On Mining Research

The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) has announced a contribution of $400,000 to help CBU and Yava Technologies Inc. continue efforts to make mining more efficient while lowering emissions.
The partnership will design, build and validate a pilot-scale mining plant to demonstrate a closed-loop process for treating a variety of complex mineral deposits and industrial waste.
Sustainable Development Technology Canada is contributing the same amount to support the project that includes a state-of-the-art laboratory at CBU’s Verschuren Centre for Sustainability in Energy and the Environment.
