I-3 Companies Closely Tied To Universities

The 10 companies recently recognized by Innovacorp’s I-3 competition demonstrate strong relationships with N.S. universities, which now account for the lion’s share of the province’s R&D. The two Halifax winners, Spring Loaded and Atlantic Motors are both Dal start-ups. Fenol Farm is the brainchild of Acadia’s chemistry prof Sherri McFarland. And a few companies that made the semi-finals, such as SONA NanoTech (StFX) and Treventis (Dal), have links to universities.
